Truth Or Feelings

My Pastor Kent McBay inspired the thoughts that I shall try to provide to you in this article. We often make our decisions based on our feelings rather than on truth. Our feelings can lie to us. The Bible will never lie to us. We should think Biblically. We cannot always change our feelings but we can change what we think and what we think can change our feelings. God and His Word, the Bible will help us to think what we ought to think. The Bible will give us the best advice we can ever have. And Pastors and teachers with a great knowledge of the Bible can give us advice from it.

Drugs can make us feel good before they kill us. I did some drinking before I became a Christian. The alcohol made me feel good while it was making me stupid, slow and unable to resist temptations.

Jesus is the living truth and the Bible is the written truth.

John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

John 17:17 Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.

2 Corinthians 10:5: Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;

Proverbs 16:3: Commit thy works unto the LORD, and thy thoughts shall be established.

Our feelings can often go astray and deceive us. God is able to control all things that happen to His children, the things that make us feel good and the things that make us feel bad. He is able to work them all for our good and His glory. The Bible says that He loves us. The things that make us feel bad come to us through the eye-dropper of His love. When we feel bad we ought to bring our thoughts back to God and His promises. When we feel good we should thankful.

Proverbs 3:5: Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. 6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. 7 Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the LORD, and depart from evil. 8 It shall be health to thy navel, and marrow to thy bones.

Philippians 4:8: Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.
